Reference Sheet for Jinji, by xxlPanda

An updated reference sheet for Jinji the Gengar, designed by Kumada Panda by Jinji’s request. Going clockwise from top-left:

Top-left: Uniquely, Jinji’s tongue is a bright neon-green rather than the typical red of most Gengar. He likes to scare people by showing it off while screaming!

Top-right: Jinji’s back spikes are far longer than a typical Gengar, and are extremely sharp to the touch. Just a simple brush against one will cause a cut or graze – but thankfully, Jinji is rarely tangible to humans.

Bottom-right: Jinji owns a pendant which hangs from his body 95% of the time. The pendant is a flat, embossed coin depicting a Dusk Ball, with raised bumps and a groove down the ball’s “opening”. The central button can actually be pressed, but it’s not known if the pendant has any actual function. Jinji seems to have a strong attachment to his pendant, and even on the rare occasions he doesn’t wear it, he always knows where it is, as though psychically connected to it.

Bottom-centre: In contrast to his back, Jinji is very flat-chested. He lacks the usual pudginess of a Gengar, in spite of his constant sugar addiction, and his front side feels very soft and smooth. Jinji’s eyes are a deep crimson red, similar to the colour of blood; but looking closely, one can see a thin yellow iris around his pupils. Of course, this is rarely seen, as anyone looking at him close enough to see it will have usually been hypnotised long before…

Bottom-left: One of Jinji’s arms is unlike the other. On his left arm (camera right), a small patch of his purple skin is noticeably darker than the rest of his body. This patch of purple makes a crescent moon shape. It’s currently unknown what this means. Jinji’s pendant is usually attached to his body by being tied to one of his back spikes and then draped to in front of his chest. Despite the sharpness of Jinji’s spikes, somehow the pendant never breaks off his body, despite appearing to be attached by nothing more than a simple black string.
