Privacy Policy
The following constitutes the official Privacy Policy for the Jinji The Gengar official web portal, located at https://jinji.gamescodex.net, as well as any other current and future locations.
Your privacy comes first.
As the intention of this site is to provide an official portal for art and stories related to Jinji the Gengar, collecting personal information is not of any interest to me. This site does not allow public comments; does not register accounts; and does not personally identify you at any time. Except where required for the functionality of the site software, no personally identifying data is ever held or retained by me. In the event I introduce features in the future which take user details, I will ensure those features clearly communicate what is being collected and why; and update this Privacy Policy to reflect those changes. And that’s a promise.
Below is a list of some of the things this site may do which I am required to inform you of. In each case, I have endeavoured to explain the exact reason(s) for the behaviour and any applicable rights you have.
Browser Cookies
If you use the Theme Switcher (shown on the left throughout the site) to select or change the colour scheme and layout used throughout your visit to the Jinji the Gengar website, a cookie will be saved to your computer to allow the site to memorise your preferred theme. This cookie does not store any other data; is not used for any other purposes; and is valid for six hours from the time of your last visit, after which time it will be discarded. This cookie is never set except through the specific user-initiated action mentioned above. Page Views
In order for me to gain an understanding of how easy my site is to navigate, what content is popular, and whether any changes should be made to improve the visitor experience, each time a page is requested on the Jinji the Gengar website, server-side software records which page was requested. This data is then collated to provide me with an overall count of the number of visits to each page and to the site as a whole. Additionally, a cookie may be set on your PC, which will be checked for to allow the software to ignore visits where the same page was simply refreshed without any other page having been visited. No data about you is recorded or sent; the only thing that is ever collected is what page was visited, when, and if the page was a new visit or just a refresh.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
I will always endeavour where possible to keep content on-site where possible and, if embedding content from external sites, will always strive to find the most privacy-respecting solution possible. However, I cannot accept liabillity for the actions of any third-party suppliers of content used.

All writings, artworks and other media that appear on the Jinji the Gengar website are the creations of either Jinji, or of other artists and individuals working on behalf of, or as gifts for Jinji. The originators of the work have created the works for Jinji’s benefit and have granted him an exclusive right to both use and display the works in whatever manner he so chooses. Where possible, Jinji has credited the original artist by whatever name or online moniker they used at the time of creating the work; and this should constitute attribution to the artist where required by relevant copyright law.
Many writings and artworks may use or refer to characters and trademarks under ownership of Nintendo of Japan; Creatures, Inc; GAME FREAK; and/or international subsidiaries of the above. Neither Jinji nor the original creators of any works imply any ownership over such characters, the rights of which remain with their copyright holders. To the best of our knowledge, all artwork featured on the Jinji the Gengar website utilises custom-drawn renders, vector images, or free-to-use artwork created by a variety of independent artists and is not intended to infringe on any officially licenced artwork; and any references to any trademarked name or imagery is considered to constitute fair use under relevant international laws.
